Visit the Holiday Lights and Ride the Tilden Carousel with Mrs. Inclan & Ms. Jardine
Mrs. Inclan and Ms. Jardine want to take your children on a visit to the Holiday Lights exhibit and the ride of their lives on the historic Tilden Carousel. Winning students will spend two hours seeing the holiday lights, riding the merry-go-round, playing games and having fun. Snacks, tickets, and everything else needed for this fun outing will be provided by Mrs. Inclan and Ms. Jardine. Parents drop-off and pick-up at the Tilden Carousel. Outing will take place Saturday, December 7, 2013 4 - 6 pm. Limited to 4 students per class from the current 1st grade.

I Scream! You Scream! We all Scream for Ice Cream!
Do your kids crave ice cream as much as ours do? Give them a special trip to Fenton's with Mrs. McLaughlin and Ms. Buswell on Sunday afternoon, February 2, 2014 from 2-4 pm. Drop off and pick up at Fenton's. Four students from each 2nd Grade class will feast at Fenton's and play at the nearby Piedmont Avenue School playground. They run around and scream, and you don't have to deal with it!

What could be better? Join Ms. Bahr and Ms. Nelson and knock some pins down while munching on your favorite breakfast treat. Event will occur on a Sunday morning in the spring, from 10:30 - 12. Parents drop off and pick up. Four students from each class.

5th Grade Valentine's Day Starlight Theater & Lock-in
Ms. I.S.’s Valentine’s Day Starlight Theater & Lock-in Eight lucky fifth grade ticket holders will spend an evening at Hillcrest on Valentine’s Day playing games, watching a movie and enjoying a smorgasbord of treats. The fun will begin when students arrive at 6:30 p.m. for games of hide and seek in the classrooms, kick the can on the patio, followed-up with a movie and a concession stand. Happy, exhausted students will be ready for pick-up at 9:30 p.m. Enjoy a night out with the Valentine of your choice and give your kids the experience of a lifetime. The San Francisco Gourmet Chocolate Tour with Four Middle School Teachers
Do you love fine chocolate? Join your Middle School teachers on a 3-hour exploration of San Francisco's best artisan chocolate makers, walking from the San Francisco waterfront to Union Square on Saturday, December 7th. Our special chocolate guide will teach us what makes fine chocolate and its health benefits. We will visit a wide array of San Francisco gourmet chocolate boutiques with 8 stops and generous tastings at each, all in the middle of San Francisco's festive holiday hustle and bustle. Climbing the Walls With Your Teachers!
We are offering an afternoon of climbing at Oakland's Great Western Power Company Climbing Gym. Six lucky students will spend the afternoon bouldering and climbing at the gym. We will leave after school on a day to be determined and provide a snack on the drive to the gym. Students will spend 2 hours working on their skills. We ask that parents pick up their students from the gym at 5:30. If this sounds like something your child would enjoy, please bid on it! Teachers are belay certified!

Molecular Gastronomy with Mr. Canton
What do you get when you combine the love of food with the wonder of science? Molecular gastronomy! Five lucky fifth graders and five fourth graders will have the opportunity to use chemistry and physics to transform textures and tastes of food into whimsical and mouth-watering delicacies using fresh ingredients, seaweed-based natural gums, bacterial fermentation and laboratory tools! Students should bring their appetites, scientific curiosity, and willingness to cook up a storm into Linda Teplitz's generously-offered kitchen on a Sunday to be determined in 2014.
