Dear Neighborhood Business,
We are parent volunteers at Hillcrest School, a public K-8 school located in Oakland, California. Hillcrest serves nearly 400 neighborhood children and is a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School in the category of Academic Achievement (awarded each year by the Department of Education to only 300 schools nationally).
The annual Benefit Auction is Hillcrest PTA’s most significant fundraising event of the year and will be held on November 4, 2017. The proceeds fund music, art, language, technology and library programs that the Oakland Unified School District cannot support due to budget constraints. We would not be able to offer these important programs to our students without the generous support of businesses like yours.
Not only does our community ensure a great education for Hillcrest students, the PTA also donates money and support services to other Oakland Organizations and Schools. Prior recipients include Emerson Elementary, Piedmont Ave. Elementary, Peralta Elementary, Sankofa Academy, PLACE @ Prescott, Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary and Raising a Reader – Alameda County. This school year, we’re looking forward to contributing to Oakland Unified School District’s Stonehurst Campus in East Oakland, which includes two sites: Esperanza Elementary School and Fred T. Korematsu Discovery Academy (KDA).
We are asking for our community's support and a donation of an item or gift certificate that can be auctioned at our event. We are also seeking businesses who’d like to purchase sponsorship space in our auction catalog and logo shopping bags, which will be distributed across our community. All donors are recognized in the auction catalog.
