Dungeness Crab Feast - November 18, 2017
A big meal with friends to kick off Dungeness crab season is a tradition for Bay Area families. Like fresh powder at Sugar Bowl, it gives us something to look forward to during the winter months. We will welcome you to our home for an evening of dining and community around a meal based on fresh, local food featuring crab at its early-season best. The evening will start with an assortment of cocktails, refreshments and appetizers. The centerpiece of this meal will be live, freshly caught, local crabs--pulled right from the ocean nearby, cooked simply and cleaned immediately before serving. We will even show you how to do it yourself so you can continue the tradition at your house. The crab will be accompanied by a 5-course seasonal meal made with local ingredients and featuring Spaghetti Aglio e Olio and fresh sourdough. We will also be serving a selection of California wines throughout the evening and cap off the meal with a delicious dessert. Party starts at 6:00 p.m. Top 4 couples.

Woozy on Wheels Pedal Pub - December 2, 2017
"Come along and ride on a fantastic voyage. Don't even have to walk, don't even have to drive. Just slide, glide, slippity-slide. Just forget about your troubles and your 9-5..." as you take a ride on a custom-made 14-passenger bicycle! We'll pedal our pub through Jack London Square and West Oakland, making stops at some of our city's beloved bars. All that pedaling will require plenty of pit stops for craft beer, wine, and mixed drinks along the way. After we've pedaled our hearts out, we'll head back to Upper Rockridge for pizza, more libations, and an animated retelling of our adventurous afternoon. Women and Whiskey - January 20, 2018
Want to know what all the buzz is about when it comes to the bourbon craze? We are offering a class to talk about the basics of whiskey: how to read a label, how to order a cocktail, and how to impress a date with your drink order. The class and tasting will be taught by Niki Green, Certified Specialist of Spirits (CSS) from the Society of Wine Educators. The collection is over 250 bottles of whiskey, as well as dozens of rum, gin, brandy, and tequila. Tasting will be by flights and will focus on a range of whiskey: bourbon, rye, American single malt, Scotch, Irish, and Japanese. Depending on interest range, the flight will consist of 5 1-ounce tastings, plus a whiskey-based barrel-aged cocktail. The class will be about an hour, and the tastings will be throughout the night for a total time of 2-3 hours, depending on the group and the tolerance. This evening is for women only (sorry gentlemen). The class will include an UberPool ride home. Roller Disco Divas - March 9, 2018
It's ladies' night! Lace up your skates, pull up your knee highs, and boogie down with Hillcrest's fabulous roller divas. We'll start our evening at the home of one of our hosts, enjoying cocktails and appetizers while we reminisce about our favorite couples' skate, and wonder whether we can still "shoot the duck". Then we'll climb aboard the disco party bus (cue music, spinning disco ball, and revelry), where we'll glide over the Bay Bridge to the Church of Eight Wheels in San Francisco.
