Most parents wear costumes to the Benefit, some exceptionally imaginative. It's fun to walk about and see Hillcrest creativity on display and guess who'll win "best dressed."
Call the Claremont Hotel directly (510/843-3000), and let them know you're with Hillcrest. If 10 rooms are booked, a preferred rate will be available (last quote was $339 + taxes and parking). Cal has a home game that day, so rates are higher than usual.
